Less Than 48 Hours
Some shoots come up quickly. And it happens more often than you think. Case in point, I receive an email on a Monday night. Prospective client wants images of the commercial lighting products installed in the newly renovated spaces of a Tampa car dealership.
They need it done “asap”. OK, I just happen to have this Wednesday afternoon open (less than 48 hours from now).
Client accepts and I block out the time.
Usually, things like a location scout, shot list, conversations with corporate, and similar happen before the actual photography. But, sometimes events occur quickly and then certain steps are skipped due to time constraints.
This is where experience pays off. I’ve been doing “shoots” for over 30 years when I count video, music, event production. And fortunately (I guess), this was not my first “asap” shoot.
It was a stressful, yet fun, 4 hours. Just me on location at the Porsche Tampa dealership. I hadn’t ever visited this location before and anyway it was completely renovated so anything prior was irrelevant. I ran on experience, creative vibe and adrenaline as the time there became a wash.
Shot in 4 hours. Edits the next day. Client was happy which makes me happy! Actually, I’m thrilled with the images, especially the exteriors (which I’ve added to my portfolio).
